Ordinary people serving in extraordinary situations
Major emergencies provide opportunities for Christians to respond with
compassion; touching the lives of those affected, with love and care, in Christ's name. ANGLICARE state-wide is one of a
number of organisations, working as a community partner, to provide an effective and co-ordinated response when major
emergencies occur. ANGLICARE provides practical support, hope and encouragement to those affected by disaster.
Anglicare Western New South Wales Disaster Recovery Unit offers:
Assistance in caring for individuals and communities affected by major emergencies, including: bushfires, floods,
storms, drought and unexpected high-impact incidents.
Training to heighten the understanding of emergency management, and human needs during a disaster.
The implementation of the Bathurst Anglican Diocesan Emergency Plan (ADEP).
Our Disaster Recovery teams consist of local groups of trained volunteers, who play a vital role in delivering care and
assistance to those affected by disasters.
Training and workshops
Anglicare Western NSW holds one day workshops for volunteers wishing to join a Disaster Recovery Team in their area.
Volunteers learn practical ways to help those affected by disasters such as bush fire, major vehicle incident, terrorism,
hailstorms, etc. and the role of these teams in providing support. To organise a one-day workshop for your parish, or to
find out when a workshop is being held in your area, use the contact details below.
