Anglicare Western NSW doesn't 'do' Christmas hampers rather we 'do' New Years Eve Hampers. Our experience and feedback from communities show that the need for hampers is not at Christmas time rather at New Years Eve. That in fact they are inundated with charities doing this work at Christmas. Whereas at New Years Eve there are no services providing hampers and a lot of services are in a shut down period.

It is a time where there is great social pressure for people to be optimistic and celebrate. Often the excitement of Christmas has gone, school holidays can be proving stressful and finances have been depleted on Christmas.
